Microsoft Teams has become a well established part of many Companies day-to-day administration, and rightly so, because it’s far more than a Zoom meeting equivalent.
Many starting using Teams during the pandemic as their meeting software, however there are many more features within Teams which are not being utilised. You have already paid for Teams as part of your Microsoft 365 Licence, so what else is available?
One of the major benefits of using Teams is to significantly reduce internal email traffic. I’m sure you have been in the situation where everyone sends a ‘Reply All’ to the ‘Reply All’ they have received, resulting in numerous entries in your Inbox, all with the same subject name, and you have to view them all to see who said what and when. A far more efficient and less time-consuming method is to utilise ‘Channels’ (groups of people who work together) for this communication and information exchange.
Your business may use on-site workers, using Teams on their laptop, or the Teams App on their mobile or Tablet is best practice, as opposed to the uncontrolled use of WhatsApp.
Teams is also very ‘user-friendly’ in allowing people to work on the same file at the same time. For example, collaborating in real time to amend that Word Document, change that Excel Spreadsheet or produce that PowerPoint Presentation.
